Timothy J. Kenesey
President & Chief Executive Officer
has spent a significant part of his career helping businesses define their strategy, improve their market position and grow profitably.
Since early 2001, Tim has been the President & Chief Executive Officer of Medical Protective Corporation. Before joining Berkshire Hathaway, in addition to his CEO role at Medical Protective, Tim served as the President of GE Insurance Solutions' Healthcare Providers business (2004-05). He also spent one year (2000) as the Senior VP of Global Business Development for GE Insurance Solutions' predecessor company, where his team focused on successfully divesting a half-dozen non-strategic ventures, and supporting a reorganization.
Prior to his time on the "capital side" of GE, Tim worked on the "technology side" at what is now GE Healthcare. As Manager of Global Business Development, Tim focused primarily on helping to drive Jeff Immelt's profitable growth initiatives. He was responsible for and helped close numerous acquisitions and strategic alliances in MR, CT, ultrasound, x-ray, nuclear medicine, and related services businesses...his global responsibilities included - in addition to the U.S. - supporting transactions in Continental Europe, Israel and Asia.
Before joining GE, Tim helped a variety of clients execute on growth and strategic alternatives as a member of the Mergers, Acquisitions & Corporate Finance team at global law firm Sidley Austin. Tim began his professional career with KPMG, in both audit and tax positions.
Tim holds a BBA from the University of Notre Dame and a JD from the University of Illinois. He is both a CPA and Attorney.
